What was the name of the first permanent professional theater in England?

James Burbage built The Theatre in Shoreditch, an area
just north of the City of London, in 1576.  The Theatre, so-called because it was the
first permanent purpose-built performance venue in England, served as a home base for
Burbage's company, The Lord Chamberlain's Men.  One of the performers in the group
probably was a young performer from the area that is supposed to have been Burbage's
hometown - William Shakespeare, of Stratford-on-Avon.  Remains of The Theatre were
uncovered by archaeologists from the Museum of London in 2008.
