You are a roving reporter for The Paduan Enquirer you have crashed the wedding of Katherina and Petruchio in The Taming of the Shrew. Make the...

Well, Act III scene ii, which features the wedding,
certainly has lots of scandalous material for you to focus on! One suggestion for you to
think about is to consider the role of the media today in exaggerating and presenting
information in a distorted fashion. This is certainly one of the elements your teacher
wants to see from you in this assignment. If I were you, I would begin my article by
giving the context of the general situation of the play: how Katherina is renowned for
being a "shrew" and Baptista's decision never to allow Bianca to marry until her elder
sister is married first.

Then I would begin narrating the
events of the wedding, perhaps by introducing this mysterious new suitor who thinks he
is able to "tame" the shrew, and then focussing on his conduct in particular at the
wedding and how he treats his new bride, and her response. The article has to end with
an element of speculation at how the marriage will develop and whether the couple will
be able to overcome their rather unpromising start. Good luck! This sounds like a really
interesting assignment!
