What is ( 3 + 5)2 ÷ 2

A good way to remember the proper order of operations is
BEDMAS.

Brackets, Exponents, Divide, Multiply, Add,
Subtract.

In this question the first thing to do is what is
in the brackets, (3+5) which is 8.

= (8)2 ÷
 2

Then you would do 2÷ 2 which is
1.

=(8)1

You then would
multiply the 8 by the 1 which equals
8

=8

It’s important to follow
the proper order of operations, or the final answer will be
different.

For example (3 + 5)2 ÷
2,

if someone were to do the middle numbers
first,

=3+10÷2, would end up
being

=13÷2 which would result
in

=6.5

So remember
BEDMAS!
