Solve the system 2x-4y = 5 x+3y = 7

2x - 4y = 5 ............(1)

x
+ 3y = 7 .............(2)

We will use the elimination
method to solve for x and y.

We will multiply (2) by -2 and
add to (1).

==> 2x -4y = 5
..............(1)

==> -2x - 6y = -14
............2*(2)

==> -10y =
-9

==> y = 9/10 =
0.9

Now to find x we will substitute into
(2).

==> x = 7 - 3y = 7- 3(0.9) = 7- 2.7 =
4.3

==> x =
4.3

Then, the solution to the system is the
pair ( 4.3 , 0.9)

Calculate tan(x-y), if sin x=1/2 and sin y=1/3. 0

We'll write the formula of the tangent of difference of 2 angles. tan (x-y) = (tan x - tan y)/(1 + tan x*tan y) ...
