What similarites are between the film Splice and the novel Frankenstein?

In both stories, a hybrid human being is created using
experimental scientific methods. In Frankenstein, a being made of corpses is
re-animated, and in Splice a female being is made via gene splicing. Both resultant
beings could be seen as "monsters" but for the sympathetic human qualities. In
Frankenstein, the Creature is highly intelligent and articulate, and shows himself to be
compassionate. In Splice, the female creature has an endearing quality that causes her
makers to see her as a child, despite her size and superhuman strength. In both stories,
the "creatures" are seen as a threat to the social order, and to the human characters,
and it's decided they must be destroyed. But destroying them proves difficult, which
emphasizes the danger and folly in creating such beings to begin
with.
