If (x+1),3x,(4x+2) are consecutive terms of an A.P, then what is the value of x?

We are given that (x+1), 3x, (4x+2) are in A.P. As they
are A.P., consecutive terms have a common difference.

So 4x
+ 2 - 3x = 3x - x - 1

=> 4x - 3x + 2 = 2x -
1

=> x + 2 = 2x -
1

=> 2x - x = 2 +
1

=> x =
3

Therefore if x = 3, (x+1), 3x, (4x+2) are
in A.P

Calculate tan(x-y), if sin x=1/2 and sin y=1/3. 0

We'll write the formula of the tangent of difference of 2 angles. tan (x-y) = (tan x - tan y)/(1 + tan x*tan y) ...
